According to the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), the public benefit corporation that oversees the validation process, The WELL Building Standard is a “performance-based system for measuring, certifying, and monitoring features of the built environment that impact human health and well-being, through air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort, and mind”. These scientifically-proven concepts strive to improve the experience and meet organizational goals regarding employee wellness, performance and satisfaction. While other certifications focus on the environmental impact of the facility, the WELL Building Standard addresses the experience within the building.
